Clinic Policies & Insurance

Cancellation & No Show Policy

When you schedule an appointment we reserve that time exclusively for you.  We have a busy clinic and often have a wait list thus we appreciate your compliance with our cancellation policy.  We value your time and thank you for showing us the same courtesy.

For new patients we secure your first appointment with your credit card.  The information is saved in a secure location in your patient file.  If you are unable to make your first appointment and give us at least a 24 hour notice you will not be charged.  However,  if you cancel with less than 24 hour notice or do not show up for your first appointment you will be charged for the full appointment.

For follow up visits, appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled at no charge by calling to notify us by the close of business the day prior to your appointment. Same day cancellations will be charged a $50 late cancel fee. No show, no call occurrences will be charged the full appointment fee.  These charges cannot be billed to insurance and will either be charged to the credit card on file, billed to you or collected at your next appointment.

If you are going to be 10 minutes or more late for your appointment please call to inform us as soon as possible.  We will do our best to work you into the schedule, however if we are unable to see you, you will be rescheduled and a $50 fee will be charged to you.

We do understand that emergencies and unexpected events arise.  These will be taken into consideration when applicable and fees may be waived.

Payment Policy & Insurance

Kailua Acupuncture Clinic accepts several insurance plans that offer acupuncture as part of their benefit package. Please note that it is the patient’s responsibility to know their insurance coverage and benefits. All copays and co-insurances are due at the time of appointment and tax may be an additional charge. We do our best to verify patient insurance coverage prior to or during the initial visit, however sometimes this is not possible and an estimate of the copay or co-insurance will be collected until benefits are confirmed.

If you do not have insurance coverage and have questions about our fees please call the clinic at 808-262-4550.  Our fees may vary depending on the type of treatment provided and the amount of time spent with the patient.  We accept cash, check and visa or mastercard for payment at time of service.
