Dr. Mariya Gold, DACM
Dr. Mariya Gold, DACM has been interested in natural, holistic healing for most of her life. Growing up in Bend, Oregon, surrounded by nature and an abundance of outdoor activities, living a healthy life was continually a part of her routine. After obtaining a B.A. in International Business and French, and traveling, living, and working in Europe, Mexico, and South America, a love for surfing led her from the frigid waters of Oregon to the warm waves of Hawaii. A shoulder injury while competing in an outrigger canoe race brought her to her first acupuncture treatment at Kailua Acupuncture Clinic.
Interested in learning more about Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Dr. Mariya began working at the clinic and studying under Dr. Joni. Seeing and experiencing the effectiveness and healing capabilities of this ancient healing art, she enrolled in a 4 year Master of Science program in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, where in addition to Acupuncture, she studied such topics as Herbology, Tuina (Chinese medical massage), and Western Medicine.

In addition to her 4 years of study at the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and her experience at Kailua Acupuncture Clinic, Dr. Mariya traveled to China in 2010 where she attended an Advanced Course of Chinese Medicine at the International Training Center of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has also taken advanced training in Sports Medicine Acupuncture with Whitfield Reeves and Healing Community Trauma Training with Acupuncturists Without Borders. Additional trainings have included facial rejuvenation using microcurrent and color light therapy, Lomi Lomi Hawaiian healing with Uncle Alva, acupuncture for the cancer patient, allergy elimination techniques, and healing with essential oils. In 2021, Dr. Mariya completed her doctorate in acupuncture and Chinese Medicine through Pacific College of Health and Science. Dr. Mariya loves learning and is constantly striving to gain more knowledge and skill in what she is able to offer her patients.
Dr. Mariya has been an active volunteer with Acupuncturists Without Borders since 2011. She is also a member of HOMAA, Hawaiian Oriental Medical and Acupuncture Association, as well as the Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our world’s oceans, waves and beaches. In addition, one of her favorite local organizations that she supports is AccesSurf, an amazing nonprofit on O'ahu creating community based programs for anyone with a disability to enjoy the water.
Dr. Mariya considers it a privilege to be able to use her knowledge and experience to help people who are seeking physical, mental and spiritual balance.
